Durable and Lightweight Solutions: Transforming Construction with FRPs
Join us for an enlightening webinar on the transformative potential of Fiber Reinforced Polymers (FRPs) in building and infrastructure projects.
FRPs, known for their low weight and high durability, have emerged as an innovative solution for modern construction challenges, including those related to renewable energy structures. However, the widespread adoption of these high-performance composites has been limited by a lack of awareness and clear design guidelines specific to the construction industry.
While FRPs are widely used in aerospace engineering, their application in buildings and infrastructure requires a different approach. This webinar aims to provide insights into the applications and design possibilities in this field.
Whether you're an engineer, architect, or construction professional, don't miss this chance to stay ahead in the rapidly evolving field of construction materials.
This webinar was held on September 3, 2024. Did you miss the live session? You can request the link to watch the recording here.
If you are further interested in designing and building with FRPs, we also offer an online course in this field – you can find out more here.

Dr. Marko Pavlovic
Marko Pavlovic is associate professor of Steel and Composite Structures focusing on high performance reusable structural components through innovation, lab experiments and Finite Element Modelling. He investigates hybrid FRP and steel structures on the laminate level and on the level of structural components and their joints aiming to provide structural engineering solutions for the transition to renewable energy and ensuring the resilience of transportation infrastructure. His background is in design and research of FRP composite and steel-concrete hybrid and demountable structural systems, high strength steel, joining techniques, bridge design and advanced structural analysis.
In addition to academic achievements he has more than 15 years of experience in cooperation with industry through consultancy on projects regarding buildings, bridges, carparks, wind turbine towers, etc. Marko teaches BSc and MSc courses on FRP Structures, Steel Bridges, Design of Steel Structures and Fatigue. He supervises BSc, MSc students, PhDs and PostDoc researchers in fields of FRP composites, steel and hybrid structures and materials.
