While working as a Lead Technologist Industrial Printing, René van der Meer participated in the online course Digital Manufacturing for Industrial Design. Read about his experience.

What was your motivation for enrolling in this course?
Multi Material 3D is a new technology. Since early 2017 I am looking into the potential of Multi Material 3D printing for Océ (a Canon company). I am responsible for several 3D projects. One of which is Dental. Together with TNO and NextDent we want to add colour using our piëzo print head technology to the monochromatic VAT technology from TNO.

How would you describe your online learning experience?
During this course not only I got a better feeling of the potential of MM/3D, but I also better realized the importance of software tooling. 

What did you think of the online learning environment?
The course was very well organised. I had no experience with online courses, but I really enjoyed the combination of the supplied materials, the exercises, the interviews with experts and the high quality feedback from the lecturers.

I would recommend this online course to anyone who wants to learn in depth more about digital manufacturing. The course is quite extensive and you will learn a lot in a very short period.
