What was your motivation for enrolling in this course/program?
Having worked in the acoustics domain for a few years now I realized that I enjoy working in the sector and wanted to further expand my knowledge and learn about more advanced aspects of the subject. So, my primary motivation was to learn the fundamentals of aeroacoustics and some practical techniques.
How did/will this course impact your career or life?
The course is rightly split into two parts: one addressing the fundamental concepts of aeroacoustics and the second focused towards practical experimental techniques – exactly what I was looking for. I believe I can use the knowledge I’ve gained to apply to the tire-road noise problem that I am currently working on.
How was your experience learning online?
Overall I think it was a great experience. The biggest challenge that I faced was to keep up with the assignment deadlines. This was primarily due to having a full-time job and other family commitments. But, the course instructor was generous enough to extend the deadlines and that really helped me a lot to complete the course and learn from it. Also, there were regular Skype meetings conducted to discuss any doubts or difficulties that we may have while working on the assignments or learn more about the topic itself. I think those Skype sessions were very helpful.
What advice would you give someone who is thinking of taking a similar course?
Please go for it. It's a fascinating domain and you'll learn a lot.
