Bio

Bea de los Arcos is a Learning Developer at Delft University of Technology, where she is responsible for guiding course teams through the process of designing, producing, delivering and evaluating online courses and programmes.

She has extensive teaching experience, having taught on online, blended and face-to-face programs at The Open University and other HE institutions in the UK and Ireland since 1993. Over the years, in addition to her regular responsibilities as a lecturer and/or researcher, she has been involved in the production of numerous online and offline courses; she co-authored and facilitated the first MOOC ever produced at the Open University, OT12: Open Translation Tools and Practices; she designed Learning to Re(Use) Open Educational Resources for the European Commission-funded ExplOERer Project, which received an Open Education Award for Excellence 2016. At TU Delft Bea led the team that took the 2022 edX Prize for Innovation in Online Teaching for the MOOC Global Housing Design.

Her research focuses on the impact of open educational resources, open educational practices and open pedagogies.
