Bio

Willemijn Brouwer is an alumna of, and currently a lecturer at, the Faculty of Industrial Design Engineering at Delft University of Technology. She teaches various aspects of creativity—its theory, its practice, and how to facilitate it. Her particular interest lies in creativity within the public domain. Willemijn was born in the awesome ’80s (1982), but these years also introduced us to Neo-Liberalism—and she believes creativity is part of the cure.
Her upcoming book, The Social Designer’s Paradox, explores the potential role and value of designers within government contexts. Her ambition is to bring more historic and scientific insights to designers who try to make a change, to help them express themselves.
As President of the European Association for Creativity and Innovation (EACI), she aims to bridge the gap between theory and practice in the field of creativity.
