Wendelin Böhmer earned a diploma and PhD in computer science from the Technical University of Berlin, worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Oxford and Lecturer at St. Anne's College, Oxford, before joining the TU Delft as an assistant professor of the Algorithmics Group (EWI) in September 2020.
His research is focused on deep reinforcement learning, in particular the overlap between inductive and deductive methods. He aims for reliable AI agents that make effective use of what they know, while remaining aware of what they do not know.
