Bio

Sandra de Vries is a guest researcher at the Water Management Department of the TU Delft. About 8 years ago she got involved with citizen science methodologies and has since been increasing her knowledge and interest in the implementation of this research methodology for among others opening up science, increasing scientific literacy, increasing awareness, and increasing data collection, processing, or analysis in collaboration with many different citizens. The correct application of this research methodology is not as straightforward as others might be and can entail many more necessary competencies.

She has developed her own consulting company to assist organizations in developing citizen science initiatives, and gives workshops and courses in applying citizen science, also within open science principles.
