Bio

Rolf van Wegberg is an assistant professor at the Faculty of Technology, Policy and Management at Delft University of Technology. Rolf earned his PhD at TU Delft with the thesis ‘Outsourcing Cybercrime’ and previously obtained a Master of Science (MSc.) in Criminology. With his interdisciplinary background, he studies cybercrime in a socio-technical context. Currently, he leads research and teaches on the governance of cybercrime -- i.e., how cybercrime should be governed given the complex interdependencies between attackers, (il)licit service providers, and defenders. The real-world impact of his research has influenced Dutch law enforcement and resulted in multiple government funded research projects at the nexus of crime, technology and governance.

Rolf also frequently serves as an expert-witness and advises law enforcement agencies on cybercrime policing as an embedded scientist in the world-renowned cybercrime unit of Dutch Law Enforcement.
