Bio

In 2023, Rachel moved from The Hague University of Applied Sciences (THUAS) to Logius, the digital government service of the Ministry of the Interior and Kingdom Relations. At Logius, she works on accelerating the sustainability of government-wide ICT solutions.

Although her background is in facility management and integrated business operations, the move from higher education to government followed naturally. She was closely involved in multi-year research into circular business operations, carried out by the Facility Management research group at Hanze University of Applied Sciences and the Mission Zero Centre of Expertise at THUAS. This research gave her deep insight into how sustainability principles can also be applied to IT systems.

Over the past two years, she has focused on making the environmental impact of IT more transparent and promoting more sustainable functional choices. By working from an integral perspective, she aims to embed sustainability into day-to-day decision-making in a way that enables lasting change and helps accelerate progress across the ICT domain.
