Bio

Nitesh Bharosa is full professor of GovTech and Innovation at the Faculty of Technology, Policy and Management of Delft University of Technology. His current research focuses on designing and governing responsible GovTech - digital innovations for the public sector. Nitesh is co-founder and the academic director of Digicampus - a multi-helix collaboration for public service innovation.

At Digicampus, public agencies, companies, research institutes, and civic groups co-create and experiment with GovTech to explore the next generation of public services. The objective is to build innovation coalitions that explore the potential of state-of-the-art information technologies such as data wallets, cyber-trust services and AI for the public sector.

Nitesh is also a research leader in the HAPKIDO research consortium, which focuses on preparing critical digital infrastructures to transition to post-quantum cryptography. By combining the professor and academic director roles, Nitesh aims to shorten the loop from science to societal impact. In April 2024, Nitesh was appointed crown member of the Social Economic Board. The King of the Netherlands appoints Crown members at the Cabinet’s proposal. The duty of Crown members is to serve the public interest. Their role also involves seeking compromises when employers and employees cannot reach a consensus on major societal transitions.
