Marco Matters received his MSc and PhD in Applied Physics from Delft University of Technology in Professor Hans Mooij’s Quantum Transport group. In 1996, he joined Philips Research as a scientific researcher.

In his long career at Philips, he fulfilled various roles in program management, new business development and management. During this time, he co-founded and joined several (internal) start-ups with both R&D and operational management roles.

Before joining QuTech in 2023, he was the Director of Research Product Management at Philips.
