Bio

Katrina Heijne is a creativity expert with a dual focus on academic innovation and practical application in business settings. As a lecturer at the Design, Organization and Strategy (DOS) department within the Faculty of Industrial Design Engineering at the Delft University of Technology, she develops and delivers creativity-focused programs, including the ‘Connected Creativity’ minor and the master’s course ‘Creative Facilitation.’

In parallel, she is the founder and creative consultant at SeriousCreativity, a consultancy that helps individuals, teams, and organizations unlock their creative potential and implement structured creative problem-solving processes. Her practical, research-based approach is captured in her book: Road Map for Creative Problem-Solving Techniques – Organizing and Facilitating Group Sessions.

Her professional mission is to bridge the gap between theory and practice in the field of creativity and innovation. She actively pursues this goal through various leadership roles, including Vice President of the European Association for Creativity and Innovation (EACI), where she helps drive this inspiring community, including its renowned ECCI conference; and as co-director of the Delft Design Lab Connected Creativity, which fosters collaboration between academia and industry.
