Bio

Jannis Langer is a PhD candidate at the faculty of Technology, Policy and Management (TPM) at TU Delft. For his dissertation, he studies the techno-economic potential of renewables in Indonesia and how they can be integrated into the power system considering the values and interests of different stakeholder groups. His research also includes Ocean Thermal Energy Conversion (OTEC), a promising technology that produces electricity with the heat stored in the ocean.

Jannis obtained his bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from OTH Regensburg, Germany, in 2016 and his master’s degree in Sustainable Energy Technology (SET) from TU Delft in 2018. From 2018 to 2020, Jannis was active as a consultant and project manager at one of the largest retail groups worldwide, where he managed and promoted the implementation of solar photovoltaic and battery storage systems, as well as e-charging infrastructure.
