Bio

Dr. Chiara Falsetti is an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Aerospace Engineering, at TU Delft. She works on two-phase flows, heat transfer and phase-change phenomena to develop advanced thermal management systems.
Prior to joining TU Delft, Chiara was a postdoctoral researcher at the Oxford Thermofluids Institute, and a Supernumerary Fellow at Harris Manchester College, University of Oxford. At Oxford, she developed a high-speed infrared thermography system to assess the performance of film- and effusion air-based cooling systems for turbines. She also investigated pool boiling heat transfer of engineered surfaces for high-power electronics on board of future aircrafts. Chiara completed her PhD at the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL) in 2018, focusing on flow boiling heat transfer and phase-change phenomena for on-chip cooling.
She has worked as a scientist at the Experimental Thermal-Hydraulics Group at Paul Scherrer Institute (PSI) to investigate thermal radiation effect on temperature measurements, and as a research intern at Nokia Bell Labs, US to develop data centers cooling using two-phase flows.
