Gillian Saunders-Smits is an associate professor in Aerospace Structures & Materials at the Faculty of Aerospace Engineering Faculty at Delft University of Technology. She has a Master Degree in Aerospace Engineering from Delft University of Technology, Faculty of Aerospace Engineering in the Netherlands and a PhD in Aerospace Engineering Education from the same institute.
She has been teaching aerospace engineering for more than 20 years and teaches Research Methodologies and ethics in the Master and Introduction to Aerospace Engineering in the Bachelor as part of the Aerospace Structures and Materials Department. She has served as the Faculty's online education coordinator, project education coordinator and Master track coordinator. She actively develops online courses and platforms for open learning. She has a real passion for quality engineering education and firmly believes that engineering education like engineering design is never finished and that we should always continue to look for the optimum.
